TRAVEL PROGRAM: TOUR TO ANTARCTICA

Day 0. February 25, 2026. ARRIVAL IN PUNTA ARENAS (CHILE)

International flight to Punta Arenas, Chile.

Recommended flights:
  • flight with arrival no later than February 25 16:30.

Meals included: no
Accommodation included: no

Day 1 - 2. February 26 - 27, 2026. DEPARTURE TO BELLINGSHAUSEN POLAR STATION

Bienvenido or welcome to Chile! We meet in the city of Punta Arenas. From this glorious city we take a direct flight to King George Island, where Bellingshausen station and our sailing yacht are waiting for us. The thermometer here rarely shows the temperature below -7 °C.
If we wish we will look into the only Russian Orthodox 15-meter high church in Antarctica, built in 2004. The Bellingshausen Antarctic Station was founded in 1968 by members of the Soviet Antarctic Expedition. The station was erected in just one month. And from February 1968 till today research activities are carried out here throughout the whole year.
Here we will look for sea lions and seals, and on the way we will surely see seals lazily lounging on the shores of the island. For avid birdwatchers, this is certainly a paradise! There are an incredible number of albatrosses and gulls, and in season there are petrels, terns, skuas and cormorants.

Meals included: breakfast, lunch, dinner
Accommodation included: in cabins on the yacht

Day 3. February 28, 2026. YANKEE HARBOUR ISLANDS AND HALFMOON ISLAND

We are going to the Yankee Harbour and the Halfmoon Island. The coastline of the Yankee Harbour is covered with pebbles. It is a protected area and the habitat of gentoo penguin colonies, elephant seals and fur seals. The Halfmxoon Island has a shape of a half moon as you might have guessed already, it is partly covered with Antarctic moss. Here we can also meet elephant seals, gentoo and chinstrap penguins and giant petrels.

Meals included: breakfast, lunch, dinner
Accommodation included: in cabins on the yacht

Day 4. March 1, 2026. DECEPTION ISLAND

We'll spend the night in a flooded caldera of the active volcano at the Deception Island. The island structure resembles a horseshoe and it has the best natural harbor for waiting out any extreme weather. At the beginning of the 20th century it used to be a whaling station here; it’s remains can still be found on the island. The Bailey Head headland is located on the outer side of the island, it is inhabited by the largest colony of the Antarctic penguins. It is an amazingly beautiful place but extremely difficult to disembark at. We will need a total lack of wind and a calm ocean in order to get there.

Meals included: breakfast, lunch, dinner
Accommodation included: in cabins on the yacht

Day 5. March 2, 2026. TRINITY ISLAND

We will cruise around the Trinity Island’s bays that are filled with icebergs and will go under the cliff arches by the dinghy. A magnificent experience!

Meals included: breakfast, lunch, dinner
Accommodation included: in cabins on the yacht

Day 6. March 3, 2026. ENTERPRISE

Here we'll moor for the night to a sunken ship in the place called Enterprise. In the daytime we'll be looking for whales here. If we are lucky, we’ll be able to see one of the most stunning wildlife activities — bubble net feeding, the process when whales blow bubbles from their noses to encircle their food like a net, and then several whales come up to the surface at once and gulp up the krill caught into their bubble trap. That is an unbelievable, breathtaking show!

Meals included: breakfast, lunch, dinner
Accommodation included: in cabins on the yacht

Day 7. March 4, 2026. ORNE HARBOUR ISLAND. CUVERVILLE ISLAND

We are in the Orne Harbour, home for Gentoo penguins colony and blue-eyed shags. We will hike up the hill here to watch whales and seals from above and to see the panorama of the nearby islands and the bay with icebergs.
We will make stops at the Cuverville Island Bay and the Neko Harbour.
The Cuverville Island is a cliffy island with a bay filled with icebergs.
A colony of papua penguins lives here, and in the coastal waters you can easily spot seals enjoying themselves on the ice floes. We will visit the Neko Harbour to have a look at a gigantic glacier with ice chunks calving off it and falling into the water making a roaring sound and huge waves.

Meals included: breakfast, lunch, dinner
Accommodation included: in cabins on the yacht

Day 8. March 5, 2026. LEMAIR CHANNEL. YALOUR ISLANDS

Here, as a rule, we do not make landings on the shore, and ride on the small boats between huge icebergs and arches in protruding rocks.

Meals included: breakfast, lunch, dinner
Accommodation included: in cabins on the yacht

Day 9. March 6, 2026. PORT LOCKROY

We moor for the night to a sunken ship in a place called Enterprise. During the day we will look for whales here. With luck, you will be able to observe one of the most amazing wildlife phenomena - bubble net feeding or bubble feeding, when several whales emerge from the water at once, swallowing krill, trapped in a bubble. From above, these bubbles look like a smooth spiral. Incredible, exciting spectacle.

Meals included: breakfast, lunch, dinner
Accommodation included: in cabins on the yacht

Day 10 - 11. March 7 - 8, 2026. BELLINGSHAUSEN STATION. DEPARTURE TO PUNTA ARENAS

Our expedition has come to the finale. We return to the Bellingshausen polar station, say goodbye to the crew and the yacht and fly to the continent, to the Chilean city of Punta Arenas! In the pre-Columbian era, the territory of modern Punta Arenas was inhabited by the Tehuelche Indian tribes, who were engaged in hunting, fishing and gathering. The first whites to visit these lands were the Spaniards from Fernan Magellan's circumnavigation expedition in 1520.

Meals included: breakfast, lunch, dinner
Accommodation included: in cabins on the yacht
