Day 1. September 18, 2024 (Wednesday). DHAKA Arrival in Dhaka, transfer to Nascent Gardenia Residence hotel. Free time, overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 2. September 19, 2024 (Thursday). DHAKA AND OLD DHAKA After breakfast, we start exploring Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh. During the city tour, we visit Kawran Bazaar: one of the largest markets for vegetables, fruits, and fish in Dhaka. Here, we observe the everyday life of the market, located near the railway tracks. Then, we will stop by the National Parliament House and explore the charming Old Dhaka. We stroll through colorful alleyways and market streets to witness the typical local way of life. Afterward, we will pass through the Sadarghat boat terminal and then cross the river to visit the shipyard on a traditional rowboat. After touring the ship repair and recycling yard, we will return to Sadarghat by boat and proceed to the Armenian Church and the Star Mosque. After lunch, we will visit Lalbagh Fort, followed by Daksheshwari Temple and Curzon Hall. To conclude this eventful day, we enjoy a night boat ride from the Dhaka boat terminal to Barisal.

Accommodation: Nascent Gardenia ResidenceDay 3. September 20, 2024 (Friday). DHAKA – BARISAL – BAGERHAT – KHULNA
We arrive in Barisal early in the morning. Today, we visit serene estuaries and witness numerous wooden boats laden with various goods – vegetables, rice, guava, and more. During the journey, we admire the canals in the Ganges Delta and observe panoramic views of remote rural landscapes on both sides. Additionally, today we visit a floating market, full of local color, perfect for photography. Then, we head to Bagerhat to explore the 15th-century Muslim city formerly known as Khalifabad, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We stay overnight in Khulna.

Accommodation: City Inn Hotel Day 4. September 21, 2024 (Saturday). SUNDARBANS: KHULNA – HARBARIA – KATKA
After breakfast, we explore the Sunderbans mangrove forest. In the morning, we depart from Khulna to Harbaria. Harbaria is home to royal Bengal tigers, along with many other wild animals and birds, including the spotted deer, a major attraction in Harbaria. The entire area is covered with mangrove trees. Afterward, we sail through a narrow canal to Katka. We arrive at Katka around 8-9 pm and then embark on a night safari. With luck, we might even catch a glimpse of a Bengal tiger. We spend the evening in the forest and stay overnight in cabins on the boat.

Accommodation: Boat cabin Day 5. September 22, 2024 (Sunday). SUNDERBANS: KATKA – JAMTOLA BEACH – KOCHIHALI BEACH – DIMER CHAR ISLAND – KARAMJOL We wake up early at 5:30 am and continue our journey through the Sunderbans mangrove forest, visiting the most beautiful spots at Katka. Afterward, we proceed to the stunning Jamtola Beach and marvel at the beauty of the mangrove-fringed coastline and the ocean. Then we visit another breathtaking beach, Kochikhali, located at Hiron Point. We wander around the beautiful and untouched Dimer Char/Dublar Char Island. In the evening, we arrive at Karamjol.

Day 6. September 23, 2024 (Monday). KARAMJOL – KHULNA In the morning, we are exploring the beautiful surroundings of Karamjol and the wilderness reserve. After visiting Karamjol, we begin our journey back to Khulna. We arrive in Khulna closer to the evening.

Accommodation: City Inn Hotel Day 7. September 24, 2024 (Tuesday). KHULNA – NARAIL – KAKRAN – DHAKA
Early in the morning, we depart from the hotel and head to Narail. The journey to the fishing village of Narail takes about an hour. Here, we meet fishermen and embark on a fishing boat to observe traditional fishing with trained otters. After a couple of hours of fishing, we return to the fishing village and acquaint ourselves with the fishermen's way of life. Next, we visit the pottery village of Kakran. Here, we witness beautiful pottery and potters who still work in the traditional way, eschewing modern technological equipment. Return to Dhaka, where we arrive closer to the evening.

Accommodation: Nascent Gardenia Residence Day 8. September 25, 2024 (Wednesday). DHAKA – RETURN FLIGHT
After breakfast, we have free time and transfer to the airport for the return flight.
