During the 4-hour jeep tour, we will see:
- The Seven Pillars of Wisdom
- Ancient rock carvings and petroglyphs
- Lawrence’s Canyon and the site of Lawrence of Arabia’s house
- Um Ishrin Canyon
- The Um Fruth natural rock bridge
- The Mushroom Rock
- Sand dunes
In the afternoon, we will transfer to Little Petra (approximately a 2-hour drive). After checking into the campsite, we will take a 20-minute walk to explore Little Petra and admire its stunning multicolored rock formations.
A 10-minute walk further will lead us to the ruins of a Neolithic village, believed to have been inhabited from 7200 BCE to 6500 BCE, making it one of the earliest known human settlements. Around this period, the village was destroyed by fire and later reconstructed, but only occupied for a short time before being completely abandoned. The remnants of houses and a supporting wall are still visible today.
Little Petra, also known as Al-Beidha by locals, is the "smaller sister" of Petra. Like Petra, it is hidden among the mountains, but it is far less crowded, offering a more serene experience.
Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at the comfortable Seven Wonders Luxury Camp.
Meals included: Breakfast, lunch, dinner Accommodation included: Seven Wonders Luxury CampDay 3. November 11, 2025 (Tuesday): LITTLE PETRA – PETRAAfter breakfast, we will embark on an exclusive trek with a local Bedouin guide, following the hidden Nabatean trail from Little Petra to Petra’s city center.
This trail begins in Little Petra and leads to the stunning Monastery Al-Deir, offering breathtaking views of the highest mountain in the region, Jebel Haroun. From the monastery’s peak, we will descend into Petra’s main area, where we will explore:
- Temples and tombs
- The Colonnaded Street
- The Roman Museum
- The famous Treasury (Al-Khazneh)
- A walk through the iconic Siq canyon to the exit
The full mountain trail takes approximately 3 to 3.5 hours, but the total walking time from start to finish will be 5 to 6 hours.
For those who prefer a shorter hike, there is an alternative route that reduces the walking distance. This option includes a jeep transfer to a designated point along the Nabatean trail. While this route is less scenic and immersive, it provides a faster way to reach Petra.
Jeep ride cost: 7 Jordanian Dinars (~$10 USD) per person (paid on-site at the jeep departure point).
After the trek, we will check into the 5-star Petra Moon Luxury Hotel for a well-deserved rest.
